Long Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Cycle-Moore is a great local campground, and hey, Gotta ski right? Homestead is a good spot to do that. A lake close by is Ruth Lake, and after a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Traverse City is a tremendous site to spend a night or two. This lake is       so wonderful. Camping at Lakeside Resort and Party Store is always a good experience; Boardman River is a great whitewater spot close by. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff at Long Lake. Long Lake is not the only location nearby, Mickey Lake is a nearby lake, and Cedar Hills Golf Course is a magnificent golf course nearby. Through the long summer days at Long Lake temperatures are commonly in the 80's with overnight lows                  in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's with temperatures at Long Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. Long Lake is a good place of common rainfall; September is the wettest month with most rain while February is generally the driest month.
