Lakes are such calm sites, why not check out Pleasant Lake in the neighborhood of Long Lake; a great place for whitewater paddling is East Race. Long Lake is a good site of typical rain; September is when you get the most rain here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. You'll hit upon a       charming lake called Spring Lake near Long Lake. Sunny Haven Recreation Park is a great campground nearby, and Red Roof Inn Mishawaka - Notre Dame is a nice location to get some rest. Stay the night at Granger Koa Kampground, and if you need a site to stay The Morris Inn is a great choice. This lake is so wonderful. Very striking scenery and good skiing is what you get at Swiss Valley, and get your heart pumping on the good whitewater of Christiana Creek.                  Long Lake is not far at all from South Bend-Mishawaka; why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Garver Lake Golf Course. For the period of the warmest time of the year here at Long Lake, high temperatures usually get into the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's.
