     If you came to camp Mio Pine Acres Campground is a wonderful spot to do that, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore nearby Mitchell Lake. The yearly rain here at Lilypad Lake is about average; most of the rain falls all through August, and February is when it's the driest. At Lilypad Lake throughout the days of summer highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. Through the winter this  
   place gets highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows through the wintertime for Lilypad Lake tend to be in the 0's. There's so much to do here at Lilypad Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Shady Acres Campground is a good location for that, and needless to say, this is a fine region for folks who like lakes, Avery Lake is a lake in the neighborhood.
This lake is so wonderful. A great close by hotel is Treetops Resort.

I have fished this lake for bluegills and have had great success. Some of the bluegills were 9 1/2 inches long. The water is very clear requiring 2 to 4 pound test line. Use half crawler with a small hook, #6, with a small split shot or at times no weight. Fish the deeper water by drifting until you find the fish then anchor. There are largemouth bass in this lake but they run undersize at around 11 to 12 inches. I used an electric motor to get around. The lake is small enough that you can row with your oars. During the spawning season,mid June, I fished the shoreline around the lake and caught the gills on their spawning beds. I have limited out many days fishing this lake with some nice size bluegills. I hand launched a boat at the camp ground there which charges a daily fee and parked in the parking lot....
