Lake Winyah gets a common amount of precipitation; through August this area sees the most rain; February is when it's the driest. Camping is available at Thunder Bay RV Park and Campground, and this is a popular site for people from Alpena. This lake is so wonderful. You don’t have to go far from Lake Winyah to observe the water at Norway Point Dam, and a good close by hotel is       Alpena-Days Inn. Good hiking is available along the Norway Ridge Trail, and Lake Winyah is not the only site close by, Fourmile Pond is a close by lake. This lake is so wonderful. During the days of summer here at Lake Winyah, high temperatures typically get into the 70's. When the                  night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's.
