    If you like lakes and you're in this part of Michigan you can check out Lake Winyah. Lake Winyah gets a common amount of precipitation; through August this area sees the most rain; February is when it's the driest. Camping is available at Thunder Bay RV Park and Campground, and this is a popular site for people from Alpena. This lake is so wonderful. You don’t have to go far from Lake Winyah to observe the water at Norway Point Dam, and a good close by hotel is  
   Alpena-Days Inn.
Good hiking is available along the Norway Ridge Trail, and Lake Winyah is not the only site close by, Fourmile Pond is a close by lake. This lake is so wonderful. But wait, there's more to do close to Lake Winyah. Camping at Campers Cove RV and Campground is always a great experience, and playing golf is lots of fun at Alpena Golf Club.
During the days of summer here at Lake Winyah, high temperatures typically get into the 70's. When the
 
               night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and overnight lows at Lake Winyah during the winter usually drop into the 0's. Looking for something close to Lake Winyah? Muskrat Farm Lake is in the vicinity, and Best Western Of Alpena is a splendid place to get some rest. There's magnificent hiking along the Devils Lake Trail, and do check out Fall Creek if you're here at Lake Winyah.

stopped off here in june or july '06 on our way to the u.p. but just wanted to say it was beautiful here from the animals, to thunder bay I went and canoed it 'bout midnight to 2 in the morn. with my travel party. the bay itself was fantastic shallow as can be. every one there was friendly. going back in spring of '07 with the rest of my family...Love to camp at Ossineke! Definitely rustic. Count on usually friendly neighbors (including the squirrels and chipmunks). Beautiful area!...
