     Stay the night at Shady Acres Campground, and a lake nearby is West Town Corner Lake. At Lake LaBarge during the summer highs are in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Lake LaBarge. This lake is so wonderful. Lake LaBarge is not the only site close by, East Town Corner Lake is a close by lake, and if you want to play some golf,  
   you're in luck because Elk Ridge Golf Course is nearby. The amount of precipitation that falls at Lake LaBarge is close to the national average; the month of September is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is February.
A great site for whitewater paddling close to Lake LaBarge is Ocqueoc River; if you need a place to stay Treetops Resort is a perfect choice.

...r fantastic Alpine and Nordic skiing. Twenty-three downhill runs wind their way through the majestic hardwood forest that covers the 400-acre winter park. Snowboarders are welcome at Treetops. They are allowed on the entire ski area and have a new terrain park with 12 features for their own private use.The new terrain park contains 2 flat 10' beginner rails as well as a 20' intermediate round rail. There are some challenging additions such as a beginner 16' battle ship kinked rail as well as a 16' intermediate rainbow rail. In addition, there are man-made and natural jib features such as barrels, and logs that can be used to slide or jump over or tap with skis or boards. Nordic enthusiasts will find the ''Midwest's best terrain'' for cross-country skiing. The 12 km of groomed and tracked trails are all clearly marked and range in difficulty from beginner to expert. Treetops also offers extreme (snow) tubing. The tubing ride is available by 1.5 hour sessions for up to 30 people at a time. Advance reservations can be made for this exhilarating experience.
