If you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Silver River, and if you're a golfer then a nice nearby course is L'Anse Golf Club. The yearly precipitation here at Kontio Lake is about average; the month with most of the rain is September, and February is the month with the least moisture. Kontio Lake in fact is in the middle of a scenic outdoors paradise. Budget Host Inn Houghton is a pleasant location to get some rest.
