     A lake close by is Bourne Lake, and a great place to camp here at Kirkland Lake is Sno-trac Camper Village. Spectacle Lakes is a nearby lake that you could explore, and nearby you discover Eagle Point. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Treetops Resort is a nice site to spend a night or two, and Treetops Sylvan has nice slopes and a friendly staff. For the duration of the warm months at Kirkland Lake highs are usually in the 80's. Once the  
   sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and night lows all through the winter for Kirkland Lake tend to be in the 0's.
Camping at Shady Acres Campground is always a tremendous experience. The amount of precipitation that falls at Kirkland Lake is close to the national average; the month of September is the wettest with most of the rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

There are some challenging additions such as a beginner 16' battle ship kinked rail as well as a 16' intermediate rainbow rail. In addition, there are man-made and natural jib features such as barrels, and logs that can be used to slide or jump over or tap with skis or boards. Nordic enthusiasts will find the ''Midwest's best terrain'' for cross-country skiing. The 12 km of groomed and tracked trails are all clearly marked and range in difficulty from beginner to expert. Treetops also offers extreme (snow) tubing. The tubing ride is available by 1.5 hour sessions for up to 30 people at a time. Advance reservations can be made for this exhilarating experience. Tubing is separate from the ski area and is available for a ''ride on the wild side.'' While the snow at Treetops is usually abundant, state of the art snowmaking and grooming equipment can pile up the snow and have it groomed into fresh blankets of snow in hours.
