     You're sure to stumble upon some good folks from Owosso here, and a lake nearby is Shuler Lake. Through the months of summer highs here at Kanause Lake get into the 80's while night lows are frequently in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are usually in the 20's, and nighttime lows through the winter for Kanause Lake tend to be in the 10's. Near Kanause Lake you hit upon a golf course called Willowbrook Golf Course; camping at Walnut Hills Family
Campground is always a pleasant experience. Kanause Lake gets a typical amount of yearly rain; September is when you get the most rain here; February on the other hand is the driest.
There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Mount Brighton, and Euler Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore. This lake is so wonderful. A nice close by hotel is Baymont Inn And Suites Howell, and a wonderful location to camp here at Kanause Lake is Nazarene

             Campground. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Kanause Lake. If you need a location to stay Quality Inn Durand is a fine choice.

Bruin Lake

First visit was a pleasant one. Boat launch is real shallow, I have a Glastron SX 175 v hull and had difficulty getting boat to clear trailer without backing tow vehicle farther into lake than usual. From there, things just got better. The water is pleasantly clean, but very shallow on the north side. However, the channels connecting Bruin to the other lakes are great. We spent all day on the water. Blind lake is a beautiful little lake with several sand bars, a swimming platform and a couple of rope swings for the kids to get out of the boat and play on. Overall, we were very pleased with the fact that we chose Bruin rather that our normal haunt Portage....
