     Nearby lakes? Sure, Green Pond is next to Johns Lakes; if you came for an overnight stay Township Campground is a perfect location to camp. Johns Lakes gets a normal amount of rain; the month with most of the rain is September, and the driest month is February. High temperatures at Johns Lakes during the summer are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's while the cold winter nights at Johns  
   Lakes are in the 10's. You could also stop by Mitchell Lake if you're here at Johns Lakes; it's nearby, and Fox River Campground is a great campground nearby.

Most sites are grassy and have a mix of sun and shade and are mostly level with some having pads for the large RV's; there are pull throughs too.  We welcome big rigs, tents and anything inbetween!  We have some excellent spots to situate a group camping atmosphere or family reunion.  If you are a bird watcher, we are 3 miles south of Seney National Wildlife Refuge and offer canoe/kayak rentals through the refuge. Pets are welcomed with courtesy rules enforced.  Reservations are welcomed...
