     Island Lake is a nice lake to visit. Lakes are magnificent; Long Lake is a lake that's near Island Lake, and obviously, this is a fine region for people who like lakes, Bullhead Lake is a lake around here. Really tremendous skiing awaits you at Caberfae Peaks, and if you need a spot to stay Comfort Inn Cadillac is a brilliant choice. Summertime highs at Island Lake mostly tend to be in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's.  
   The winter brings highs down to the 20's; night lows in the 10's for Island Lake.
Camping at Long Lake Campground is always a great experience, and a nice nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Cadillac, Mi. From a precipitation point of view Island Lake is a rather typical site; September is the wettest month with most rain; February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Camp Cadillac, and folks from Cadillac love to come here.
This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time.

We had picked the pine river to canoe in the summer of 2004 and were told a good rustic campground would be a good choice. As it turned out it was by far the best camp site I had ever stayed in and had a great time. Our site happened to be next to the river with a great view, secluded and close to the river. I would highly recommend this campground for access to the pine river. Great canoeing, kayaking, fishing, etc. swimming...
