A quick visit to Mulligan Creek in the neighborhood of Island Lake is a pleasant idea. The warmest time of the year at Island Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and nighttime lows at Island Lake during the wintertime commonly       sink into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. This is a popular spot for people from Marquette. There's so much to do here at Island Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Michigamme Shores Campground is a brilliant place for that. And if that's not sufficient, there's loads more to do in the neighborhood of Island Lake. If you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Yellow Dog River; don't leave Island Lake without                  first going for a hike along the Holyoke Trail. The amount of rain that falls at Island Lake is close to the national average; the month with most of the rain is September, and February is when it's the driest.
