During the warmest time of the year at Island Lake highs are usually in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Island Lake. There's whitewater on Yellow Dog River for all you adrenaline junkies; the friendly folks of Marquette like to hang out nearby. A visit to Mulligan Plains revives the       soul, and camping at Country Village RV Park is always a delightful experience. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Michigamme Shores Campground, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Country Inn. Go for a hike on the Holyoke Trail, and why not take a little tour to Mulligan Creek since you're here. Island Lake is a good site of typical rainfall; September is when you get the most rain here while February is frequently the driest month.                  And if that's not enough, there's heaps more to do in close proximity to Island Lake.
