There are plenty of people from Cadillac here at Island Lake, and after a long day outdoors Legend Cottage Inn is a great spot to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Skiing at Shanty Creek is one of those things you just have to do, and Econo Lodge Kalkaska is a great site       to get some rest. Summertime highs at Island Lake frequently tend to be in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 20's with temperatures at Island Lake dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. Man, is there plenty of cool stuff to do next to Island Lake. A lovely lake like Mud Lake in close proximity to Island Lake is a wonderful place to pop by, and Manistee Station                  Cabin and Camping is a wonderful local campground.
