The amount of rain that falls at Island Lake is close to the national average; the wettest month of the year is usually September, that's the one that rains the most, and February is when it's the driest. Very stunning scenery and nice skiing is what you get at Shanty Creek. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Island Lake you will meet       lots of people from nearby Cadillac; golf can be played at High Pointe Golf Club. All through the warm days of summer at Island Lake temperatures are typically in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Throughout the winter the highs are mostly in the 20's while Island Lake overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's. Not far from Island Lake, you'll come across Grass Lake which is a charming lake; if you came                  to camp Yogi Bear's Jellystone Camp is a tremendous site to do that. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. Camping at Timber Ridge RV and Recreation Resort is always a glorious experience, and Sleep Inn & Suites is a delightful place to get some rest.
