Amaung Lake is close at hand, and brilliant hiking is available along the Newaygo County Snowmobile Trail. If only every location had this much outdoors exciting stuff, what a great planet it would be. All through the summertime highs here at Houseman Lake reach the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and after       the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Houseman Lake fall into the 10's. Camping at Putman Lake Camping is always a great experience, and you're almost certainly hooked on lakes, Mowby Lake is one of those nearby. Camping is available at Whispering Oaks Campground and Cabins, and don't leave Houseman Lake without first going for a hike along the North Country National Scenic Trail. The amount of precipitation that falls at Houseman Lake is                  close to the national average; through August this area sees the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful.
