You'll stumble on a stunning lake called Round Lake near Horseshoe Lake, and Caberfae Peaks has pleasant slopes and a friendly staff. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at McGuire's Resort, and an afternoon playing golf at Spring Valley Golf Course is always a joy. During the warm days of summer, highs frequently are in the 70's at Horseshoe Lake with nighttime lows in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and nighttime lows

We had picked the pine river to canoe in the summer of 2004 and were told a good rustic campground would be a good choice. As it turned out it was by far the best camp site I had ever stayed in and had a great time. Our site happened to be next to the river with a great view, secluded and close to the river. I would highly recommend this campground for access to the pine river. Great canoeing, kayaking, fishing, etc. swimming... |

Actually, the best paddling on the Pine River is below Lincoln, and especially in the section from Dobson Bridge to Low Bridge (approximately 21 miles). there are numerous CI rapids from about 20 minutes US from Dobson to about 20 minutes US from Low Bridge. Unfortunately, due to livery traffic the river is kept cleared to excess. Most of the leaning trees and logjams that make padding interesting have been removed so the drunken rental boat paddlers don't get into trouble.... |
