Comfort Suites South is a glorious place to get some rest, and lots of folks from Grand Rapids-Wyoming come here. If you came to camp Sandy Pines Campground is a delightful place to do that, and a wonderful close by hotel is Baymont Inn and Suites Grand Rapids SW/Byron Center. Lakes? Sure, Round Lake is close by, and if you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Hidden Valley Golf Course is in close proximity. What a place this is for outdoors people.

| | The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Bittersweet, and in case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Kalamazoo River.
From a rain point of view Hill Lake is a quite common site; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain; the driest of the months is February. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Hill Lake, and throughout summer nights temperatures | |

are in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Hill Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to nearby Jackson Lake.
There's so much to do here at Hill Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Engelwood Campground is a great place for that.

Bittersweet

Bittersweet has enormous snow-making capacity and is consistently the first to open in SW Michigan. Their vertical is only 350 ft, but that's about 100 more than any other resort in SW Michigan. As noted, their lift system is impressive, particularly the high speed detachable quad, but lines can get a little long on late December weekends. Their terrain park has a good variety of boxes, jumps, etc. Very friendly people....Yea you guys rock i love the snow...Ahh yes, Bittersweet Ski Area... Michigan skiing at it's very best. The drops in these part of the country are not that impressive but I think Bittersweet makes the most of it. I do recommend this ski area.... |

Fisk is a great lake to fish on. You must have a kayak or canoe to gain access through the channel that runs between Reeds and Fisk. Put your boat in on the West side of lakeside across from the dock at Reed's lake next to the municipal building. Have Fun... |

It is not very big, but all of the employees are cool and you never have to wait in line to get on the lift. They sometimes seem to overestimate the amount of snow that they have also. I sometimes wonder if they actually measure the snowpiles that have been plowed in the parking lot instead of what is actually on the hill.... |
