Hiking along the Caberfae Way Snowmobile Trail is magnificent fun; why not take a little journey to East Branch Pine River while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. What would winter be without some skiing at Caberfae Peaks, and paddling on Pine River is so much fun. Do stop by Marl Bed Lake near Hewitt Lake, it's a beautiful lake; Hewitt Lake is not far at all from Cadillac.

| | place to camp, and Super 8 Cadillac is a delightful site to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Have a glorious hiking adventure along the McKenzie Ski Trail, and a good nearby hotel is Rodeway Inn Cadillac. That right there is plenty already, but it keeps on going; Hewitt Lake has it all. You'll find a delightful lake called Diamond Lake near Hewitt Lake; playing golf is lots of fun at Tustin Trails Golf Course.

at Hammarstead Lake Camp Ground since you're here at Hewitt Lake. All through the days of summer here at Hewitt Lake, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's while Hewitt Lake night low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 0's.

 | We had picked the pine river to canoe in the summer of 2004 and were told a good rustic campground would be a good choice. As it turned out it was by far the best camp site I had ever stayed in and had a great time. Our site happened to be next to the river with a great view, secluded and close to the river. I would highly recommend this campground for access to the pine river. Great canoeing, kayaking, fishing, etc. swimming... |

| Actually, the best paddling on the Pine River is below Lincoln, and especially in the section from Dobson Bridge to Low Bridge (approximately 21 miles). there are numerous CI rapids from about 20 minutes US from Dobson to about 20 minutes US from Low Bridge. Unfortunately, due to livery traffic the river is kept cleared to excess. Most of the leaning trees and logjams that make padding interesting have been removed so the drunken rental boat paddlers don't get into trouble.... |
