Going for a hike on the Newaygo County Snowmobile Trail is always a great adventure, and Hess Lake is a wonderful spot to visit for more than one day, Leisure Time RV Park is a wonderful spot to camp nearby. Go for a hike on the Hungerford Cross Country Ski Trail, and do pop by Brooks Lake, it's a pretty lake. The warmest time of the year at Hess Lake comes with high temperatures in the       80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. During the wintertime highs are generally in the 20's with temperatures at Hess Lake dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. A normal amount of rainfall falls here at Hess Lake; through the month of September you get the most rain around here, and February is the month with the least moisture. Take a little spree to Bigelow Creek since you're here at Hess Lake, and a beautiful lake like                  Butterfield Lake is a perfect place to stop at. This lake is so wonderful.
