If the weather is nice here at Haywire Lake, you can go for a hike along the Pelkie Creek Hunter Walking Trails, and if you need a location to stay Best Western Baraga Lakeside Inn is a great choice. Summertime highs at Haywire Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Haywire Lake.       This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Haywire Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lower Dam Lake Campground is a great spot for that; Erickson Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth stopping at. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Sturgeon River, and if you come at the right time of year, Perch River offers some delightful whitewater. Haywire Lake gets a normal amount of precipitation;                  August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is February. Haywire Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Lake Ste. Kathryn Campground is a delightful local campground, and why not head up to Ski Brule and strap some skis to your feet.
