Here at Hay Lake you'll probably meet some folks from Cadillac, and going for a hike on the Lincoln Mills Snowmobile Trail is always a good adventure. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Pine River, and the Caberfae Way Snowmobile Trail is a splendid hiking trail nearby. If you want a good time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Hay Lake. Rodeway Inn Cadillac is a magnificent place to get some rest; a golf course nearby is Wedgewood Golf Club. This

50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Hay Lake. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Cadillac is a pleasant site to spend a night or two, and camping is available at Peterson
Bridge S Campground.
From a rain point of view Hay Lake is a pretty normal location; throughout September this area sees the most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. It's a perfect idea to take a look at Dyer Creek, it's in close proximity to Hay Lake; lakes are such peaceful places, why not stop at Lake Olga.

| Actually, the best paddling on the Pine River is below Lincoln, and especially in the section from Dobson Bridge to Low Bridge (approximately 21 miles). there are numerous CI rapids from about 20 minutes US from Dobson to about 20 minutes US from Low Bridge. Unfortunately, due to livery traffic the river is kept cleared to excess. Most of the leaning trees and logjams that make padding interesting have been removed so the drunken rental boat paddlers don't get into trouble.... |

 | We had picked the pine river to canoe in the summer of 2004 and were told a good rustic campground would be a good choice. As it turned out it was by far the best camp site I had ever stayed in and had a great time. Our site happened to be next to the river with a great view, secluded and close to the river. I would highly recommend this campground for access to the pine river. Great canoeing, kayaking, fishing, etc. swimming... |
