Why not stop by Hay Lake if you're passing through these parts. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Hay Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Peterson Bridge S Campground is a good location for that, and let's not forget Dyer Creek which is a stream that you may encounter during your stay. Glide down the rapids of Pine River in a kayak, and enjoy a round of golf at Wedgewood Golf Club. And if that's not enough, there's heaps more

| | to do near Hay Lake. If you came to camp Hammarstead Lake Camp Ground is a nice site to do that, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Lincoln Mills Snowmobile Trail. People from Cadillac love to come to Hay Lake; Rodeway Inn Cadillac is a nice spot to get some rest.  | Actually, the best paddling on the Pine River is below Lincoln, and especially in the section from Dobson Bridge to Low Bridge (approximately 21 miles). there are numerous CI rapids from about 20 minutes US from Dobson to about 20 minutes US from Low Bridge. Unfortunately, due to livery traffic the river is kept cleared to excess. Most of the leaning trees and logjams that make padding interesting have been removed so the drunken rental boat paddlers don't get into trouble.... |

 | We had picked the pine river to canoe in the summer of 2004 and were told a good rustic campground would be a good choice. As it turned out it was by far the best camp site I had ever stayed in and had a great time. Our site happened to be next to the river with a great view, secluded and close to the river. I would highly recommend this campground for access to the pine river. Great canoeing, kayaking, fishing, etc. swimming... |
