Nearby lakes? Sure, Tarnwood Lake is close to Harvey Lake; the snow is great at Crystal Mountain. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Homestead; playing golf is lots of fun at Mistwood Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. You could also stop by Upper Woodcock Lake since you're       here at Harvey Lake; it's close by, and Sunnywoods Platte River is a great campground nearby. The amount of rain that falls at Harvey Lake is close to the national average; September is the wettest month with most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. And if that's not sufficient, there's a lot more to do near Harvey Lake. Crystal Mountain Resort and Spa is a nice place to get some rest, and if you haven’t been to Sleeping Bear Dunes National                  Lakeshore, you should schedule some time for it while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Turtle Lake Campgrounds is a fine local campground, and get your pulse rate up on the magnificent whitewater of Boardman River. The warmest time of the year at Harvey Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 50's.
