You'll meet a lot of folks from Escanaba here, and as expected, all our national parks are nice places to take a look at and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is no exception. Stay the night at Island Lake Campground, and going for a hike on the Valley Spur Ski Trail is always a magnificent adventure. Now, you may believe that's plenty but       there's even more cool stuff to do here at Hartney Lake. Go for a hike on the Addis Lakes Ski Trail, and a delightful lake like Grimes Lake is a perfect location to stop by. A common amount of rainfall falls here at Hartney Lake; during the month of September you get the most rain around here, and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Au Train River.                  Good hiking is available along the Big Island Lake Portage Canoe Trail, and lakes are such peaceful sites, why not stop at Doe Lake. High temperatures at Hartney Lake during the summertime are in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's while Hartney Lake nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful.
