Hartley Lake is right by the North Country National Scenic Trail, and there's whitewater on Ontonagon River - South Branch for all you adrenaline rush seekers. High temperatures at Hartley Lake during the summertime are in the 70's, and the nighttime is quite cooler of course, usually in the 50's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 10's, and winter nights come with lows       in the-10's to Hartley Lake. The annual rain here at Hartley Lake is about average; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Ontonagon River. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Cedar Campground; the Alligator Eye Trail offers hiking at its best. If you need a location to stay Black Bear Lodge is a pleasant choice.
