Custom Search     Hampton Lake     There is a public landing with access to the lake by a dirt road. The entrance to the road is on Centre Street across from the Woodbridge shopping Center. Any other lake access is for residents that own property close enough to the lake for right-of-way use. The Greenspire access is supposed to be for Greenspire residents and is not a public landing. It would be hoped that any visitors to the lake would respect private property and use the public landing. Says Jeremy Hampton lake is a public lake in Portage south of Centre street, about a 1/3 of a mile east of US 131. It does not have a public access, I'm not even sure gas powered boats are allowed, but they're not needed because the lake is not very big. But it is spring fed and DNR stocked so it is very clean and very good fishing. I live in Greenspire Apartments which is partially on the lake and my roommate and I fish Hampton lake often.
