Can the general public access the lake or is it private for Greenspire residents?

Hampton lake is a public lake in Portage south of Centre street, about a 1/3 of a mile east of US 131. It does not have a public access, I'm not even sure gas powered boats are allowed, but they're not needed because the lake is not very big. But it is spring fed and DNR stocked so it is very clean and very good fishing. I live in Greenspire Apartments which is partially on the lake and my roommate and I fish Hampton lake often. Row boats are available to rent in the office.

Hampton Lake is a nice lake to visit. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Hampton Lake has to offer, you can camp at Stadium Drive West Mobile Home, and the friendly people of Kalamazoo-Portage like to hang out close by. From a precipitation point of view Hampton Lake is a reasonably normal place; the month of September is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is February. | | months of summer at Hampton Lake temperatures are regularly in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Hampton Lake temperatures drop to the 10's.

spend a night or two, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Timber Ridge. Hit the slopes at Bittersweet close by. There's so much to do here at Hampton Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Coldbrook
County Park is a magnificent place for that.
Nearby lakes? Sure, Atwater Millpond is right next door to Hampton Lake, and there are some glorious whitewater spots on Kalamazoo River. If you need a site to stay Staybridge Suites
KALAMAZOO is a good choice, and why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Kalamazoo Country Club.
