If you need a place to stay AmericInn Munising is a pleasant choice. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Hammond Lake has to offer, you can camp at Hiawatha Resort and Campground. There's so much to do here at Hammond Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Wide Water Campground is a magnificent spot for that; there are great places to discover       along the Valley Spur Ski Trail. High temperatures at Hammond Lake throughout the summer are in the 70's while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's; overnight lows in the 0's for Hammond Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Big Island Lake Portage Canoe Trail is always a perfect adventure; Comfort Inn Munising is a magnificent place to get some rest. Glide down the rapids of Au Train River                  in a kayak. So many entertaining things to do at Hammond Lake, so little time. If time allows, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is a national park worth checking out, and lakes are such peaceful spots, why not explore Grants Lake.
