If you came for an overnight stay Country Village RV Park is a splendid location to camp, and don't miss out on a brilliant swamp; Grass Lake is right here at Gunpowder Lake. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Escanaba River - Middle Branch; brilliant hiking is available along the Holyoke Trail. From a precipitation       point of view Gunpowder Lake is a reasonably normal site; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Gunpowder Lake; the overnight is a little chillier of course, mostly in the 50's. All through the wintertime the highs are generally in the 20's while Gunpowder Lake overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 0's.                  Be careful coming to Gunpowder Lake, you might not ever want to go home again. Summit Mountain is uncomplicated to spot from Gunpowder Lake; let's not forget Partridge Creek which is a stream that you may run into while here.
