You'll need more than a day to discover everything Gull Lake has to offer, you can camp at Jones Lake Campground; after a long day outdoors Yarrow Golf & Conference Center is a tremendous site to spend a night or two. Gull Lake is not the only spot close by, Grassy Lake is a close by lake, and if you get bored of Gull Lake you could also explore close by Miller Lake. Gull Lake is a good spot of typical rainfall; September is when you get the most rain here,

| | and the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. Gull Lake Country Club is a golf course next to Gull Lake, and whitewater paddling is good on Kalamazoo River.

Can the general public access the lake or is it private for Greenspire residents?...Hampton lake is a public lake in Portage south of Centre street, about a 1/3 of a mile east of US 131. It does not have a public access, I'm not even sure gas powered boats are allowed, but they're not needed because the lake is not very big. But it is spring fed and DNR stocked so it is very clean and very good fishing. I live in Greenspire Apartments which is partially on the lake and my roommate and I fish Hampton lake often. Bittersweet

Bittersweet has enormous snow-making capacity and is consistently the first to open in SW Michigan. Their vertical is only 350 ft, but that's about 100 more than any other resort in SW Michigan. As noted, their lift system is impressive, particularly the high speed detachable quad, but lines can get a little long on late December weekends. Their terrain park has a good variety of boxes, jumps, etc. Very friendly people....Yea you guys rock i love the snow...Ahh yes, Bittersweet Ski Area... Michigan skiing at it's very best. The drops in these part of the country are not that impressive but I think Bittersweet makes the most of it. I do recommend this ski area.... |
