    Guard Lake is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. During your journey to Guard Lake you'll meet some people from Sault Ste. Marie for sure. The yearly rainfall here at Guard Lake is about average; September is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is April. This lake is so wonderful. Maple Hill is painless to spot from Guard Lake, and there is a splendid hiking trail close by called the Horseshoe Bay Trail.
 
   Kewadin Shores Casino Hotel is a magnificent location to get some rest; if you're here, you could also check out gorgeous East Lake. At Guard Lake all through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Guard Lake. Having a nice time at Guard Lake is easy. Dry warm beds await you at Kewadin Casino  
               Lakefront Inn, and the North Country Trail is a good hiking trail nearby.
Why not camp at Dick Campground while you're here at Guard Lake, and going for a hike on the Mackinac Trail is always a nice adventure. A pleasant location to camp here at Guard Lake is Pine River Primitive Campground, and Trout Brook Pond is a nearby lake that you could stop by.

The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Mackinaw Campgrounds while nighttime lows are mostly in the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and overnight lows at Mackinaw Campgrounds through the wintertime ordinarily sink into the 0's. You can run the rapids of Bear River next to Mackinaw Campgrounds, and Burt Lake State Park is a pretty location any time of year. Don't leave Mackinaw Campgrounds without first going for a hike along the Mackinac Trail, and Nubs Nob has good slopes and a friendly staff.
