Get drenched paddling on Au Train River. You simply should have a thing about Grants Lake. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at close by Pan Lake, and why not camp at Hiawatha Resort and Campground while you're here at Grants Lake. Not far from Grants Lake,       you'll find Hammond Lake which is a wonderful lake, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Big Island Lake Portage Canoe Trail. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Grants Lake; the nighttime is somewhat chillier of course, commonly in the 50's. During the winter the highs are usually in the 20's; overnight lows at Grants Lake through the winter usually drop into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. A good site to camp here                  at Grants Lake is Wide Water Campground, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Valley Spur Ski Trail. From a rainfall point of view Grants Lake is a relatively common place; through September this area sees the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
