Candlewood Suites KALAMAZOO is a glorious location to get some rest, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by close by Sherman Lake. The amount of rainfall that falls at Graham Lake is close to the national average; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily September, that's the one that rains the most, and February is the month with the least moisture. Now, you may feel that's a lot but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here
at Graham Lake. In case you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Kalamazoo River, and why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Gull Lake View Golf Club & Resort.

Barlow Lake
17 miles away
Bob Dibble again:  looking for the Palmer family and the Parker family that used to live at Barlow lake back in the 1950's.  If you are out there, please respond....I am 71 years old now and spent my 10 to 20 years old summers at Barlow lake.  Visited there a couple of years ago after not being there for 40 years and found an old friend still living there - Al (Alfie) Lewis  living at the old mill....

Hampton Lake
18 miles away
Can the general public access the lake or is it private for Greenspire residents?...Hampton lake is a public lake in Portage south of Centre street, about a 1/3 of a mile east of US 131.  It does not have a public access, I'm not even sure gas powered boats are allowed, but they're not needed because the lake is not very big.  But it is spring fed and DNR stocked so it is very clean and very good fishing.  I live in Greenspire Apartments which is partially on the lake and my roommate and I fish Hampton lake often. Row boats are available to rent in the office. ...

Bittersweet
22 miles away
Bittersweet has enormous snow-making capacity and is consistently the first to open in SW Michigan. Their vertical is only 350 ft, but that's about 100 more than any other resort in SW Michigan. As noted, their lift system is impressive, particularly the high speed detachable quad, but lines can get a little long on late December weekends. Their terrain park has a good variety of boxes, jumps, etc. Very friendly people....Yea you guys rock i love the snow...Ahh yes, Bittersweet Ski Area... Michigan skiing at it's very best. The drops in these part of the country are not that impressive but I think Bittersweet makes the most of it. I do recommend this ski area....
