This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Henry Lake Campground is always a brilliant experience, and getting to Osprey Creek from Glen Lake is uncomplicated. Whitewater paddling is splendid on Presque Isle. Lakes are magnificent; Mink Lake is a lake that's near Glen Lake. Glen Lake is a beautiful lake in the Gogebic Range.

to camp here at Glen Lake is Presque Isle Campground, and don't leave Glen Lake without first going for a hike along the Alligator Eye Trail. These mountains rock, just look at all the entertaining stuff to do in the Gogebic Range.
Get dripping wet paddling on Planter Creek, and Indianhead is a very popular ski area in the vicinity. An average amount of rain falls at Glen Lake; the wettest month of the year is regularly August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is February.

Armour Lake
| My aunt and uncle, Della and Deac Vilutis, owned the resort in the 50's and early 60's. I have many memories if my dad and I fishing on all those lakes. It was truly a beautiful area to grow up in....The lake is spring fed and is connected to Horsehead lake via river and also to North Crab lake and Crab lake. Walleye, large mouth bass, Muskellunge, Northern Pike and sunfish are native to this lake. The lake is 355 acres which host Bill's Island, a public campground that is accessable via boat/canoe. There is one state owned access to this lake on the north side. Many years ago, Armour Lake Resort had been built by my great, great uncle and then owned in the early 40's by my parents who are now both deceased. The resort has since been purchased as a private residence. As a child growing up we have some wonderful memories about this beautiful, spring fed lake. I miss it.... |
