You can run the rapids of Paint River next to Gestner Lake.

Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows throughout the winter for Gestner Lake tend to be in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Gotta ski! Norway Mountain is a great place to do that, and the cheerful people of Iron Mountain like to hang out nearby.
