     Timber Ridge RV and Recreation Resort is a splendid local campground, and if you're here, you could also stop at beautiful Spring Lake. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors cool things the area right next door to George Lake has to offer. Lots of folks from Traverse City come to George Lake. For the duration of the summertime at George Lake temperatures are mostly in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down  
   into the 50's. Through the wintertime the highs are generally in the 20's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at George Lake sink into the 10's. George Lake gets a typical amount of precipitation; September is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is February.
Do check out Wethea Lake in the vicinity of George Lake, it's a striking lake, and dry warm beds await you at North Shore Inn. If you need a place
 
               to stay Traverse Bay Inn is a pleasant choice, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Boardman River. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Yogi Bear's Jellystone Camp is a great location to camp, and enjoy a round of golf at High Pointe Golf Club.
