Glide down the rapids of Huron River in a kayak, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore nearby Coon Lake. From a rain point of view Gale Lake is a relatively typical location; the month of September is the wettest with most of the rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Skiing at Mount Brighton is one of those things you just must do, and enjoy a round of golf at Marion Oaks Golf Club. Lakes
are great; Pardee Lake is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Gale Lake, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Of Howell is a great site to spend a night or two.

so much to do here at Gale Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lake Chemung Outdoor Resort is a magnificent site for that.

Bruin Lake
10 miles away
First visit was a pleasant one. Boat launch is real shallow, I have a Glastron SX 175 v hull and had difficulty getting boat to clear trailer without backing tow vehicle farther into lake than usual. From there, things just got better. The water is pleasantly clean, but very shallow on the north side. However, the channels connecting Bruin to the other lakes are great. We spent all day on the water. Blind lake is a beautiful little lake with several sand bars, a swimming platform and a couple of rope swings for the kids to get out of the boat and play on. Overall, we were very pleased with the fact that we chose Bruin rather that our normal haunt Portage....

Jones Lake is probably about 15-20 acres in size and gets down to 31 feet in the middle. The lake has lots of bluegill and largemouth bass in it. It also has black crappie and loads of carp. Jones Lake is a fairly weed....

Tipsico Lake

A very nice lake with Pike and Bass. Try using live bait such as crawlers for Bass and shiners, or a live gill for pike off the bottom. Enjoy........

Haas Lake Park
19 miles away
My family and I have been spending summers at Haas Lake for about 18 years now. Through the years we have made a family of friends there... people who are as close (if not closer) than actual family. Growing up there, I will have to say that I would not trade it for anything. Of those who stay out there, many of us say that it is our favorite place on earth!! I am blessed to have had the time there, and hope that, in the future, my children will spend time there also!...I was fortunate enough to have spent my summers growing up at Haas Lake Park.? Even though I am now 35 years old, I still return to Haas Lake to visit the Haas Lake ''family''. I have made so many friends at Haas Lake and would recommend camping there....
