     Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Suites Grand Rapids North, and you can stay the night at Croton Dam Float Trips. An average amount of rain falls at Frey Lake; September is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. During the long summer days at Frey Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are commonly in the 20's  
   while Frey Lake night low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 0's. While you're here at Frey Lake, you could also stop at lovely Baldwin Lake, and hiking along the Newaygo County Snowmobile Trail is magnificent fun.
If you want a fine time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Frey Lake. The smiling people of Grand Rapids-Wyoming like to hang out close by. This lake is so wonderful. South Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit, and
 
               if you need a spot to stay SpringHill Suites Grand Rapids North is a great choice. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Cannonsburg. There's so much to do here at Frey Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Duke Creek Recreation-camping is a glorious site for that.

...ccepting reservations for 2009 equipment rentals beginning May 1, 2009. Reservations highly recommended as we offer the lowest rates on the Muskegon River in the Newaygo Area for your river adventures.

Rustic Camping also available on a limited basis. As of April 15, 2009 we have two seasonal electric sites available for rent this season. Rate is $700. 00 for the year. Our camping rates nightly are $12. 00 for non-power sites and $15. 00 for electrical sites. No running water/hand pump. No dump station. Outhouses and porta- potties in the busy summer season.

Excellent smallmouth & largemouth bass, northern pike, and walleye fishing on the backwaters to Croton Dam and also north about 5 miles on the backwaters of Hardy Dam. Spring steelhead runs, rainbow & german brown trout, and fall salmon runs down on the river itself below the dam.

We do not offer river services for the Little Muskegon River.

At one time I believe Freska Lake was owned by my Grandmother's family. Her maiden name was Lapinski. I'm currently doing research and looking for information on the family..my Grandmother in particular. She died approx. in 1930. My Dad as a young man used to rent boats on the lake and used to take me fishing there in the 50's....
