The 7,000 +/- acre Lapeer State Game Area is adjacent and offers great hunting, fishing, hiking, canoeing and nature study/photography. 6-7 miles away is the town of Lapeer which is the county seat and with 8,000 people, the largest town in the county. Jeff G: Five Lakes lake itself is complete surrounded by private land with no public access. Beautiful cedar swamps with rare plants and crystal clear water can best describe the immediate area. Also nearby is the Polly Ann rail trail which starts in Kings Mill and travels to Orion Twp. in Oakland County.
