Throughout the summertime, highs typically are in the 70's at Fern Lake. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Fern Lake. Any time is a great time at Fern Lake if you       like the outdoors. There are good locations to look at along the Big Island Lake Portage Canoe Trail, and you can stay the night at Hiawatha Resort and Campground. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Fern Lake has to offer, you can camp at Indian Lake Travel Resort, and after a long day outdoors Americas Best Value Inn - Wetmore is a great site to spend a night or two. Don't leave Fern Lake without first going for a hike along the Haywire                  Grade ORV Trail; lakes are such peaceful spots, why not explore Wolf Lake. This lake is so wonderful. There's great hiking along the Valley Spur Ski Trail; if you need a place to stay AmericInn Munising is a delightful choice.
