What a nice lake Dyer Lake is. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. There's so much to do here at Dyer Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Rivers Bend Campground is a perfect place for that; get covered with water paddling on Menominee River. Dyer Lake is not far at all from Iron Mountain, and Norway Mountain is a wonderful local ski area. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Dyer Lake, and the nighttime is quite cooler of course, commonly in

| | the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Dyer Lake fall into the-10's.
This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Iron Mountain Campgrounds is a glorious place to do that, and enjoy a round of golf at Eagle Mountain Golf Course. Whitewater paddling is wonderful on Brule River; a beautiful lake like Little Badwater Lake is a wonderful location to have a look at. Don't | |

forget to take a great little tour to Badwater Creek, and after a long day outdoors Budget Host Inn Iron Mountain is a nice site to spend a night or two.
This lake is so wonderful. Not far from Dyer Lake you get some fine water
scenery at Twin Falls Dam. Dyer Lake is a good spot of normal rain; June is the wettest month with most rain; February on the other hand is the driest. A pleasant nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites IRON MOUNTAIN, and lakes are such peaceful places, why not check out Badwater Lake.

I just took a 30 mile trip down this river with a group of 6 and three canoes. I thought it was great overall. There are a few shallow spots where we had to get out of the boat and pull it through the water but otherwise the depth is good. As far as the quote ''pretty good campgrounds'' go, these were not easily found but can be set up in the less dense forests alongside the water. The stretch over the hemlock rapids is a bit difficult on the lower hemlock but the upper is an exciting though slightly wet ride. The overall current throughout the river is not too fast so some paddling is needed. Thats about it, this is a great river. The scenery is beautiful, and if your staying overnight the stars are miraculous, so enjoy the view. If your in the trees alot watch out for ticks, (they found me well) but other than that, enjoy the ride.... |
