| | Dutch Johns Pond gets a typical amount of rainfall; September is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is tremendous on Salmon Trout River, and if you need a location to stay Big Bay Motel is a splendid choice. Jasper Ridge Inn Ishpeming is a wonderful site to get some rest, and there are magnificent spots to explore along the Holyoke Trail.

Michigamme Shores Campground, and do schedule some time to stop at Conway Point if you have a chance. High temperatures at Dutch Johns Pond during the summertime are in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
During the winter highs are in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Dutch Johns Pond. One of the best things about Dutch Johns Pond is its proximity to Squaw Beach, and a swamp like Conway Creek next to Dutch Johns Pond has lots of attention-grabbing things to see.
