If you need a location to stay Super 8 West Branch is a great choice, and camping is available at Mio Pine Acres Campground. At Dollar Lake during the summertime months highs are in the 80's, and the nighttime is rather cooler of course, typically in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Dollar Lake are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. | | Dollar Lake, and for you golfers we recommend close by Cedar Valley Golf Club. A normal amount of rain falls here at Dollar Lake; during the month of August you get the most rain around here, and February is when it's the driest.

Island Lake
 | I have fished this lake for bluegills and have had great success. Some of the bluegills were 9 1/2 inches long. The water is very clear requiring 2 to 4 pound test line. Use half crawler with a small hook, #6, with a small split shot or at times no weight. Fish the deeper water by drifting until you find the fish then anchor. There are largemouth bass in this lake but they run undersize at around 11 to 12 inches. I used an electric motor to get around. The lake is small enough that you can row with your oars. During the spawning season,mid June, I fished the shoreline around the lake and caught the gills on their spawning beds. I have limited out many days fishing this lake with some nice size bluegills. I hand launched a boat at the camp ground there which charges a daily fee and parked in the parking lot.... |

I was just at Cranberry Lake on July 7, 2007. It was beautiful. I went fishing and caught many fish. I also went jet sking, paddle-boating, on a pontoon boat and fished off the dock. The view was amaizing, espcially the sunset. I loved it here and can't wait to come back.... |
