Go for a hike on the McKenzie Ski Trail, and if you come at the right time of year, Pine River offers some wonderful whitewater. The annual precipitation here at Diamond Lake is about average; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain while February is generally the driest month. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Cadillac is a fine place to spend a night or two, and a gorgeous lake like Marl Bed Lake is a delightful place to take a

| | look at. So many exciting things to do at Diamond Lake, so little time. The skiing at Caberfae Peaks is great; Hewitt Lake is a splendid lake nearby.
Stay the night at Beaver Lake Camp Grounds, and lots of folks from Cadillac come here. Take a little trip to Diamond Lake Outlet Creek if you're here at Diamond Lake, and wonderful hiking is available along the Lincoln Mills Snowmobile Trail.

at along the Caberfae Way Snowmobile Trail, and for you golfers we recommend close by Tustin Trails Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. Diamond Lake is a delightful place to visit for more than one day, Hammarstead Lake Camp Ground
is a delightful place to camp nearby, and Rodeway Inn Cadillac is a fine place to get some rest. At Diamond Lake through the summertime highs are in the 70's, and the night is fairly cooler of course, typically in the 50's. Highs during the winter are ordinarily in the 20's; night lows in the 0's for Diamond Lake.

 | We had picked the pine river to canoe in the summer of 2004 and were told a good rustic campground would be a good choice. As it turned out it was by far the best camp site I had ever stayed in and had a great time. Our site happened to be next to the river with a great view, secluded and close to the river. I would highly recommend this campground for access to the pine river. Great canoeing, kayaking, fishing, etc. swimming... |

Actually, the best paddling on the Pine River is below Lincoln, and especially in the section from Dobson Bridge to Low Bridge (approximately 21 miles). there are numerous CI rapids from about 20 minutes US from Dobson to about 20 minutes US from Low Bridge. Unfortunately, due to livery traffic the river is kept cleared to excess. Most of the leaning trees and logjams that make padding interesting have been removed so the drunken rental boat paddlers don't get into trouble.... |
