So many enjoyable things to do here at Deer Lake, too pleasant to be true. Golf can be played at Lac Vieux Desert Golf Course. Some of the water close by flows, like Scott and Howe Creek, and if you came for an overnight stay Paulging Pond Campground and Picnic Area is a nice place to camp. From a rainfall point of view Deer Lake is a reasonably common spot; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and       February on the other hand is the driest. Throughout the summertime at Deer Lake highs are frequently in the 70's while nighttime lows are typically in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 10's, and nighttime lows at Deer Lake all through the wintertime usually dip into the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Near Deer Lake you discover the North Country National Scenic Trail which is a perfect hiking trail, and get your pulse rate up on                  the good whitewater of Ontonagon River. A great place for whitewater paddling near Deer Lake is Ontonagon River - Middle Branch; after a long day outdoors Wild Eagle Lodge is a fine place to spend a night or two.
