Going for a hike on the Valley Spur Ski Trail is always a splendid adventure, and Silver Falls is always fun to check out. Deer Lake is a good location to visit for more than one day, Laughing Whitefish Campground is a good location to camp nearby, and do have a look at Spirit Lake, it's a delightful lake. What a place this is for outdoors people. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Deer Lake has to offer,       you can camp at Au Train Lake Campground, and nearby you stumble on the Addis Lakes Ski Trail which is a perfect hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. Shelter Bay is close by and always splendid to check out, and Ginpole Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore. The Chatham Ski Trail is a fine hiking trail next to Deer Lake, and in case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Chocolay River. Deer Lake gets a normal                  amount of rainfall; during September this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. A good site for whitewater paddling near Deer Lake is Au Train River, and Super 8 Motel - Munising/Wetmore Area is a magnificent place to get some rest. The warmest time of the year at Deer Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's.
