Get your heart pumping on the wonderful whitewater of Ontonagon River - Middle Branch, and Wild Eagle Lodge is a great place to get some rest. From a rainfall point of view Deer Island Lake is a relatively typical site; during August this area sees the most rain,       and February is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Deer Island Lake you can play some golf at Gateway Golf Club; the Anvil Lake Trail System offers hiking at its best. And if that's not enough, there's a heap more to do close to Deer Island Lake. Lakes are such peaceful spots, why not explore Fawn Lake next to Deer Island Lake, and camping is available at Fisher Campground. Cub Lake is a nice lake near Deer Island Lake,                  and if you came for an overnight stay Eagle Campground is a nice spot to camp. Through the long summer days, highs commonly are in the 70's at Deer Island Lake with night lows in the 50's.
