A great nearby hotel is Holiday Inn Express CHELSEA, and you can stay the night at Waterloo Recreation Area. Through the warmest time of the year highs here at Crooked Lake get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's.       Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 20's with temperatures at Crooked Lake dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. Crooked Lake gets a normal amount of rainfall; the month of June is the wettest with most of the rain; February is when it's the driest. If only every spot had this much outdoors amusing stuff, what a great planet it would be. This lake is so wonderful. Playing golf is lots of fun at Waterloo Golf Course, and the top of Prospect                  Hill is easily observed from Crooked Lake. Comfort Inn Chelsea is a good site to get some rest. Lakes?
