You can run the rapids of Ontonagon River near Crooked Lake; if you're a golfer then a fine close by course is Gateway Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Crooked Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Squirrel Campground is a tremendous location for that; if you need       a place to stay Settle Inn & Stes Eagle River is a great choice. There are other places here than Crooked Lake, for example Jay Lake, and a pleasant location for whitewater paddling is Ontonagon River - Middle Branch. Crooked Lake gets a typical amount of annual rain; August is the month that gets the most rain while February is commonly the driest month. Summer at Crooked Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. Summer night lows descend down                  to the 50's. Highs through the winter are frequently in the 10's, and overnight lows at Crooked Lake during the winter frequently sink into the-10's. Just can't get enough of Crooked Lake.
