Do go to Jack Lake close to Crane Lake, it's a beautiful lake, and dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge Lakeshore. Looking for some flowing water? Try Grindstone Creek, and on a magnificent day you can take a hike along the High Rollways Truck Trail. Crane Lake gets a typical amount of precipitation; September is the month that gets the most rain; the driest       month of the year is February. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Crane Lake. During the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Crane Lake. There is a good hiking trail near Crane Lake called the Big Island Lake Portage Canoe Trail, and Indian Lake Travel Resort is a wonderful campground nearby. The Haywire Grade ORV Trail                  is a great hiking trail in the neighborhood of Crane Lake, and if you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express Manistique, Mi is a great choice. This lake is so wonderful.
