Lake Metamora
Ok, it's nice however. There are some issues I would like to address. the beach. It's not very clean, you find cigarette butts all over the beach, finding it very unattractive, especially if you have little kids. I would be very pleased if that was an issue taking care of when I return to the beach with my kids. Also perhaps a no smoking on beach could be addressed. Perhaps they could smoke elsewhere. Like in the parking lot. Where kids wouldn't most likely be. Thank you....

Our skiers and boarders expect great snow conditions and there is good reason for their expectations. Pine Knob makes lots of great snow each season with our fleet of TOPGUN snowmakers. This kind of snowmaking capacity means that Pine Knob will op-en early, recover from midwinter thaws quickly and stay open late into the season for great spring skiing.
We are family-oriented, offering complete Alpine and Snowboard rentals, expertly groomed runs, Ski Shop and world class ski instructors. Our ski school on the premises offers private and group lessons, race training and NASTAR for young and old....

Thread Lake
15 miles away
I've been told that thread lake is extremely deep and that in some spots they've never found the bottom of the lake. I cant count the number of lures, hooks and bobbers I've lost in that lake. I've only caught one or two tiny bluegill that weren't even worth keeping. I've seen massive fish jump far out in the lake, but never caught any of them. I've not had very much luck with this particular lake, and neither has anyone else I know for that matter. I've not had one experience at that lake where I didn't lose something in it....Thread Lake is an extremely underused and abused area of Flint.  It is underused because the lake hardly often sees any form of traffic on it's waters.  It is abused in the sense that in the past, the neighborhood has used its waters and shores as a dumping area.  Thread Lake is very shallow in areas and can sometimes be hard to navigate, so a shallow boat or canoe is highly recommended.  The lake is host to a large variety of plant life, and has many small isolated islands of which wild iris flowers thrive.  These are great places for fish to mate, particularly Carp.  The fishing on the lake is often difficult, due to muddy water conditions, but you can find most game species in its waters....

Five Lakes
15 miles away
Five Lakes in an unincorporated town with only a few buildings left, located in central Lapeer County Mi. You can find it on older road maps but it's no longer listed on recent state road maps. Stop in at Five lakes grocery and talk to the lady there, she can tell you all about the history of this once booming lumber town. The 7,000 +/- acre Lapeer State Game Area is adjacent and offers great hunting, fishing, hiking, canoeing and nature study/photography. 6-7 miles away is the town of Lapeer which is the county seat and with 8,000 people, the largest town in the county....

Flint Park Lake
18 miles away
When I went this summer of 2009 just to see what what is now called Devils Lake. It was nothing but overgrown weeds and grass. I really didn't see where you could enter the park. But the stories I've heard I wouldn't want to even walk around there as if it was a real park!...It's a deadly mudhole where undercurrents drown anyone who tries to swim in it. It's...
