Kathryn Campground, and Bonny Lake is a nearby lake that you could have a look at. The annual rain here at Cougar Lake is about average; most of the rain falls during August, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Americinn - Iron River, Mi, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Brule Mountain if you're       here. Wolf Creek is next to Cougar Lake and is always a pleasure to go to, and after a long day outdoors Iron Inn Motel is a splendid location to spend a night or two. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Sturgeon River, and scenic scenery and perfect skiing is what you acquire at Ski Brule. During the summer months, highs mostly are in the 80's at Cougar Lake; the nighttime is a little chillier of course, mostly in the 50's. The winter comes with highs                  in the 20's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Cougar Lake. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this location.
