This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors AmericInn Munising is a pleasant spot to spend a night or two; Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is a great local destination. A common amount of rainfall falls here at Coattail Lake; all through the month of September you get the most rain around here while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. If you need a place to stay Comfort Inn       Munising is a great choice, and camping at Island Lake Campground is always a perfect experience. There are fine spots to discover along the Valley Spur Ski Trail. There is a tremendous hiking trail near Coattail Lake called the Big Island Lake Portage Canoe Trail; if you've had enough of Coattail Lake, Onega Lake is nearby. You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Going for a hike on the Haywire Grade ORV Trail is always a glorious adventure; some                  of the water nearby flows, like Grassy Creek. Summertime highs at Coattail Lake frequently tend to be in the 70's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 20's; nighttime lows at Coattail Lake during the wintertime mostly dip into the 0's.
